The Academy of Medical Sciences is the UK’s independent voice for biomedical and health research, working to create a more open, progressive research sector that improves health for everyone.

I regularly collaborate with their brand and content team across a range of freelance design projects—from printed reports and flyers to digital marketing assets.

As they began growing their social media presence, they asked me to develop a fresh visual style for online content—something engaging and accessible, while staying true to their existing brand. I created a look that brought their identity into the digital space in a clear, informative, and visually cohesive way.

They were really pleased with the outcome, and I was then asked to take things further by revamping their existing brand guidelines. The brief was to modernise their visual identity while keeping core elements like the logo, colour palette, and typography in place.

 

The challenge was to evolve what they already had—harmonising the old with the new to create a more consistent, eye-catching style, especially for use across digital and social platforms.
